Just when you think Tim Weaver has written the best book he possibly can, you go and buy his next book, sit down to read it, and discover this one ... This book is amazing on so many different levels, it has so many different character developments and tangents of the story criss crossing each other, that you can barely wait to turn the next page. Everything in this book works tremendously well, you feel for the people your reading about, and they don't just come alive on the page, they jump out, grab you by the throat and drag you along for the ride. If you have read his prior books or not, it doesn't matter, this is primarily a standalone dramatic PI thriller that you just have to read, so stop reading what I'm typing and go and buy the darn book ! It will be your best read of 2016 ! Thank you Mr Weaver for yet another wonderful book that I hated turning the final page on.Product details

A master storyteller
David Raker (and Tim Weaver) no fail to surprise and keep us interested till the last page
Tim Weaver can really tell a story and he does not disappoint!! I've read all of his Reiker series and this is one of my favorites. Keeps you guessing till the end!
Another solid Tim Weaver book. A little formulaic but I kept turning the pages as I did for all his previous books.
Another great novel from Tim Weaver. I love the way the plot develops from seemingly no clues. He clearly researches his subject thoroughly. At the end I wasn't totally convinced it was fiction after all. Only small downside is the violence that always seems to catch Raker unaware. I have now read all of his books and eagerly look forward to his next.
The best author out there, Tim Weaver. His books are so addicting!
British missing person investigator David Raker receives a call from America from a women who says her sister, Lynda Korin, has been missing for 10 months and the police have been unable to find her. She was captured on CCTV entering a seaside park. Although there was only one way out, there was nothing on CCTV showing Korin leaving the park. There is no obvious reason for Korin to disappear and no evidence of foul play. For most of the first half of the book, Raker is engaged in a very interesting investigation. The second half is less engrossing. There is too much technical information about film and different charaters repeat the same story at great length. There are a few surprises, but the book drags.
